For custom music, add MP3 files through Options → Audio, then choose Local Files on the radio in the business or vehicle. If a business is being criticized for missing music, first install compatible audio equipment, make sure it is active, and select a station; importing MP3 files is optional.

Fix “no music” in a business

  1. Open the business panel and confirm that music or Interior Score is the actual complaint.
  2. Buy a compatible speaker, radio, or other audio item available in the current catalog.
  3. Place it inside the business and confirm that it is installed rather than still boxed or in storage.
  4. Interact with the audio control and select a station.
  5. Reopen the business for a real operating period.
  6. Check customer feedback and Interior Score again.

Music is only one part of the result. A current developer explanation says Interior Score can also include wall and floor treatment, decoration, uniforms, bathrooms, and—where relevant—tables and garbage cans. Adding a second speaker will not repair a missing bathroom or poor decoration requirement.

Add your own MP3 files

The developer-provided workflow is:

  1. From the main menu, open Options.
  2. Open Audio.
  3. Use the option that opens the custom or local music folder.
  4. Copy your music files into that folder.
  5. Use MP3 files; the developer answer identifies MP3 as the required format.
  6. Return to the game.
  7. Interact with the radio in the building or vehicle.
  8. Change its station to Local Files.

Simply copying files is not enough if the radio remains tuned to an in-game station. The official forum answer specifically calls out selecting the local station.

If Local Files is silent

Check these in order:

  • Wrong format: convert or replace unsupported files with standard MP3 files.
  • Wrong folder: reopen the folder from the in-game Audio settings instead of guessing a path from an old guide.
  • Wrong station: select Local Files on the exact radio you are trying to hear.
  • Files added while running: restart the game so it can rescan the folder.
  • Device volume: check the game's music volume and the Windows output device.
  • Business versus vehicle radio: change the station on the object in the location where you want playback.
  • One bad file: test with a single ordinary MP3, then add the rest in small groups.

If the supplied stations play but Local Files does not, the audio equipment is working and the problem is probably the file, folder, or station selection. If no station plays, check the installed object and audio settings first.

Official soundtrack and content-creator use

A Hovgaard Games developer stated that the studio's license allows content creators to include the music supplied with the game in YouTube and Twitch content. The same answer cautions that automated false-positive claims cannot be ruled out. Keep the source link and your recording details if a platform flags an official track.

That statement does not grant a license to tracks you import. For Local Files, you are responsible for having the rights needed for your stream, video, or public broadcast. Owning an MP3 or having access through a consumer streaming service does not automatically include those publication rights.

What changed across updates

Official updates have revised the in-game music list over time. If a named station or track from an older guide is absent, verify the current Audio menu before assuming the installation is broken. The local-files method is the more durable way to use a personal library, but it still depends on the current game recognizing the file.

Evidence boundary

The MP3 folder and Local Files workflow is supported by developer answers. The exact audio-object names, station list, and contribution of music to an individual business can change with the catalog or balance patches, so use the current F1 help and business feedback for the final in-save check. Rights for user-added tracks are outside Hovgaard Games' official soundtrack permission.
