To complete Buying Out an Existing Business, purchase an operating AI company—not an empty lease and not only the real-estate building. In Voogle Maps, show active businesses, select an eligible company, open its business details, choose Send Business Overtake Offer, and complete an accepted deal.

Prerequisites

  • The target must be a business type your save allows you to operate.
  • It must still be an active AI business.
  • You need enough cash for the accepted offer and enough reserve to operate what you acquire.
  • If an active rival owns both the business and its building, the rental relationship can block a normal business takeover.
  • In story mode, keep the objective active while performing the transaction.

The feature was designed as a way to acquire a desirable operating location, with the target's furniture and stock remaining after the acquisition.

Exact steps

  1. Open Voogle Maps.
  2. Enable the filter for active businesses rather than vacant commercial units.
  3. Select a company that has a business page you can open.
  4. Open its business details in BizMan.
  5. Choose Send Business Overtake Offer.
  6. Enter an offer you can afford without draining payroll and inventory cash.
  7. If the owner accepts, confirm the transaction.
  8. Open the acquired company in BizMan and verify that it is now player-owned.

An offer can be refused. That is not a broken objective: it means the seller did not accept that valuation or the target is not currently eligible.

What does not count

  • renting an empty storefront;
  • buying the building while the AI company remains its tenant;
  • opening your own business with the same type or name;
  • temporarily closing a rival through a price war; or
  • sending an offer without completing the accepted purchase.

How to confirm success

The strongest confirmation is ownership: the business appears in your company list and you can control its settings, staff, inventory, and schedule. The story objective should then advance. The 1.0 notes specifically mention a fix to the buy an existing business quest so the following inventory step can still complete even if the acquired company is shut down and replaced.

If the objective does not advance

  1. Confirm that you bought the business, not only the property.
  2. Reopen the business in BizMan and verify it belongs to you.
  3. Let the game pass through the transaction and objective update rather than reloading immediately.
  4. Keep the acquired business open until the next objective appears.
  5. If the next step asks for inventory, add inventory to the acquired or replacement business; 1.0 includes a quest fix for that sequence.
  6. If the completed transaction still does not register, press F2 in game and submit a bug report with the save and objective state.

When the rival owns the building

An active rival may refuse the rental relationship required by a takeover even when you can afford the operating company. In that case, choose another eligible target, end the active rivalry first, buy the building if the game permits an acceptable deal, or weaken the rival until the business closes. Do not keep raising an offer blindly when the blocker is building ownership rather than price.

After a successful takeover, inspect staff demands, opening hours, product sources, capacity, and recurring costs before leaving the acquired business running. Buying the company transfers an operation; it does not guarantee that the operation is profitable under your current supply chain.
